I guess not many people here have stayed at the Linq or been in district 3 rooms?
Ever day, every trip out, we encountered people looking and wandering. "What door do we take?" also since we started parking at the top after the first night, we didn't see lost people all the time, trying to figure out the self parking numbering system. If you park at 2E for example, you should probably get off at 1 and walk up, not 2 and try to find "E".
This is mostly in fun, because we liked the place. It's much more modern than last time I was at IP. (which I also liked) Shortcut out to the promenade was welcome and useful.
Whoever decided to turn that old alley, (and if I remember a back parking lot which is now part of the Linq maze) into a place for shops, restaurants, music, and the fountain, was a genius. As much as I like Fremont Street, this was a smaller version and good fun. Since we are both High Rollers (and didn't ride it because of the cost) we enjoyed In and Out burgers one night, a pizza to the room, after the Van Morrison concert, another and a walk by slice on Thursday late after the monorail excursion and taking a ride on The Big Apple Coaster.
Bought an all day pass for the monorail, so I could experience each of the stops from Harrah's to NY NY/MGM. Let me say, it's better than driving, but put on your walking shoes. We felt the monorail swing East around the MGM and I knew it was going to be a ways. All the way through the MGM, across the walkway, which was nice and then through the NY NY to the coaster. It's a little better at the next two North, but you still get dropped a fair distance back and get directed through long hallways, the gift shops and food courts, no matter which place you end. Actually Harrah's is pretty much "right there" down the steps and we were outside between the casinos. It was fun and cheaper than parking.
Which brings up, $10 a day to go to a casino! I think many were 1 hour free. So they would rather have me pay for self park, than have my money? Fine...
I have a strong feeling that next trip, we'll go to the South Point and another night Henderson, and I'll probably find out who still has free parking or validation in advance of the trip. I didn't expect the casino I stayed at to charge me for parking.
