Tried calling South Point to get rates for June convention; got rates higher than advertised on the hotel home page w/the operator saying she could not give convention rates. Tried a second time; same results; but operator said to call hotel direct which I had just done but got shuttled off to a reservation center of some kind.

So gave up and called another Vegas hotel to make reservations after the convention; same problem; rates quoted were higher than the hotel home page; no comps (tho i have been getting comps for 43+ years at that hotel); operator advising to call hotel direct which I did but like South Point got shuttled to someplace where the operator sounded like a S.E. Asian.
