I am happy to accept the nomination for CCA Membership Officer. I want to thank those who submitted my name in nomination and am asking for your vote in our upcoming election. I have been a member of our Club for 17 years and for the past 14 years have served as the Director of Property and Promotions (the guy behind the club promo table at our conventions). My commitment and dedication to our club was recognized in 2017 with my induction into our Hall of Fame. I will submit a ballot statement with my plans and ideas in detail in the next issue of our club magazine but until then here is a brief statement.

I believe that ‘Membership Is Everyone’s Job’ and that our Membership Officer needs to lead an aggressive and focused campaign to grow our numbers. Merely saying and repeating that ‘Membership Is Everyone’s Job’ is only a start. Your Membership Officer should take the lead in developing campaigns with incentives and provide support and recognition for those who help grow our numbers.

If I am elected I am prepared to:

--Work with the Board in establishing clear annual membership goals. Both for new members and dealing with our large number of non-renewal memberships.

--Present plans to actively involve our general membership, local casino collectible clubs and our loyal convention dealers in focused membership building campaigns to meet our goals.

--Begin a quarterly ‘Membership Corner’ piece for the club magazine that goes beyond listing new members.

--And more.

But good plans by themselves are not enough. I believe that building and maintaining our membership cannot be done without dollars being dedicated to the effort. So, if elected I will lobby, advocate and argue, if necessary, for the CCA Board to establish a specific membership campaign budget. It is no surprise that our club is facing a ‘membership moment’. This is NOT a point in time where we can passively watch our membership dwindle. Rather we must choose NOW to work aggressively for its growth.

I want to lead that aggressive effort, to set goals for growth and develop plans to meet those goals. Look for more details in my candidate’s statement in the next Casino Collectible News.
