Re: The Greying of the club membership ranks

Unfortunately, you are spot on with your analysis of the decline of collecting and hobbies overall. The newer generations have no interest in collecting stamps, coins, tokens, chips etc. They are too focused with staring at their cell phones and chatting on their social medias. I collect Nevada slot tokens and I can't even interest my 20-30 year old daughters into even looking at a token. They could care less. I sell quite often on EBay and all of the Buyers are much older and have never had any younger buyers or inquiries. I have attended the Vegas and Ohio casino shows where all you see are people that are 50 years of age or higher.

I hate to say it, but my vast collection and investment of tokens will eventually end up at Goodwill since there will be no one left who cares about them by the time my time is up.

Meanwhile, my collection does bring me much joy and good memories of my Nevada experiences during my younger years. For those people who complain about the age of the members of the club and the conventions, just don't come to the shows and embarrass yourself. Just let the people who come to the shows enjoy themselves without having to deal with someone with an attitude. Get a life.
