PSA does that as well in the sportscard industry, most often for autographed cards.
Also many PSA submissions will become rejected if a card is trimmed, altered etc.
There were quite a few growing pains the last 20 years in the sportscard industry, as far as different slabbing companies go..there must have been a dozen different slabbing/grading companies that have gone the way of all flesh..mostly because they were either crooked or just not very good.
Now there are only a handful of slabbing companies left..PSA, BGS, and maybe 1 or 2 others..PSA are by far the most trusted name in the business with complete population reports, etc..
It would be a VERY long and treacherous road if slabbed and graded casino chips become a "thing"..
