Bonaire Casinos

I am just back from a trip to the small Caribbean island of Bonaire. The island is in the southern Caribbean just off the coast of Venezuela and next to Aruba and Curacao. Most people have never heard of the island and that is because it only has one main attraction, scuba diving. There are over 80 dive sites on the island that can mostly be reached by driving to the beach and just walking in. The surf quickly descends to over 600' deep that makes it a paradise for coral, fish and divers. There is little else to do on the island. If you are a diver, then you know Bonaire. If you don't dive, chances are that you never heard of it.

The island has two small casinos, the Flamingo Casino in the Divi Flamingo Resort and the Bonaire Coral Casino in the Plaza Resort. Both casinos open at 8pm. Each casino had a roulette table and a few blackjack tables. About 100 slot machines, mostly newer video type, in each. The Divi Flamingo has a Players Club, but the Bonaire Coral does not. I did not find any new chips there. But the $1 Chipco at the Divi Flamingo has been retired and they are using the newest $1 chip from the Alhambra (in Aruba) instead. The Divi Flamingo on Bonaire and the Alhambra on Aruba have the same owners. The $5 and $25 chipco's at the Divi Flamingo were worn, so I did not pick any up. The highest denomination chip in use at both casinos was $25, no $100 chips in sight.

I did pick up a few of the lower denomination chips, if anyone is interested. This is nicest chip I found:
