I was making a document delivery at a law office on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. And there's no parking on our main street, unless you want to spend big bucks in a parking garage. So . . . I parked my motorcycle a few blocks south in a "free" zone and walked. Delivery made, I began walking back . . . and spotted this $1 Normandie chip on the ground beside a parking meter. I was surprised by how colorful it was, especially the holographic gold band, so I picked it up and kept it. Always thought casino chips were drab one-color items, and wondered . . . do other local casinos have such colorful chips? And, can I merely walk in and buy them? I compiled a list of local casinos and tried it out and . . . the rest is chiphistory.
