POD - CANADIAN ONES 
Good Morning and Merry Christmas to Everyone, this will be the last POD until 2018. The pages today are all from our friends north of the border. All Canadian one dollar chips. I want to thank everyone for a banner year, the LV show last June was my best trade session(s) ever. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
THE SET OF THE DAY HAS GROWN TO ABOUT 150 + SETS VARYING FROM 2 CHIP TO 12 CHIP IN SIZE. I HAVE ADDED SETS FROM MY BROKEN STATES AND ISLANDS. THE FANTASY SETS I ADDED ARE PRICED BELOW MY ORIGINAL COST; AND DID YOU KNOW THAT ALL OF THE SETS ARE ON A REVERSE AUCTION?
THE FIRST POD THIS CYCLE WILL HAVE THE INTRO- DUCTION OF THE TYPES OF CHIPS AND I AM MOVING THE CHIP OF THE YEAR’S IN WITH AZ-NM BECAUSE THEY ARE SHRINKING.
THE INTRODUCTION WILL HAVE 8 PAGES OF MOSTLY CALIFORNIA NON DENOMINATIONAL CHIPS FROM THE 1930’S UP. THERE ARE SOME ABSOLUTELY COOL CHIPS IN THIS GROUP AND THERE WILL BE BUYERS DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE. PLUS THEY WILL BE REDUCED IN PRICE FROM THEIR FIRST SHOWING ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO.
A WHILE BACK I MERGED A COUPLE OF TITLES TO GIVE THAT PARTICULAR POD SOME EXTRA PAGES AND MORE CLOUT. ONE WAS THE ODD DENOMINATIONS; IT WILL BE ADDED TO THE MISCELLANOUS ITEMS. AND NOW THE ODD DENOMS HAVE GROWN ANOTHER 8-10 PAGES, WHEW…THAT IS A LOT OF PAGES FOR ONE POD. WHICH CAUSED THE ODD DENOMS TO BE SPLIT; HALF WITH THE MISCELLANOUS CHIPS (WITH SEPARATE PAGES OF 5c AND 10c CHIPS) AND HALF WITH THE SMALL STATES (WITH SEPARATE PAGES OF $10, $20 , $25 & $100 PAGES) POD. THE OTHER WAS THE COTY’s; THEY WILL BE MOVED TO THE AZ-NM, AS INDICATED ABOVE; AND DID YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE ONE COMPLETE SET OF THE COTY’S FOR SALE. I WILL SELL IT WITH CREATIVE FINANCING THAT WORKS FOR YOU AND I; IF THAT WAS A PROBLEM.
THE GUEST HARVEST STORY AUTHORS, AND MY HARVEST STORIES HAVE CONTINUED TO BE POPULAR. THE GUEST HARVEST STORIES HAVE INCREASED TO OVER 40.
THE “LOSS LEADER CHIP”, THE WANTED CHIP, AND “A PAIR TO DRAW TO”; FEATURES WILL BE DIS-CONTINUED IN THIS NEW CYCLE.
ONE RECENT ADDITION TO THE POD IS THE POST CARDS. IN EACH POD 2 OR 3 POST CARDS ARE OFFERED FOR YOUR PERUSAL. (ALSO, BE REMINDED THAT I TRY TO POST A DIFFERENT POST CARD DAILY ON THE CHIP BOARD.)
THE NEWEST ITEM INSIDE THE POD IS THE “FEATURED STATE.” THESE ALL ARE FROM MY COLLECTION AND I WANT FIND A GOOD HOME FOR THEM. MORE INFO ON THIS, JUST EMAIL ME ANYTIME.
I AM THINKING ABOUT SLOWING DOWN THE AMOUNT OF POD’S EACH WEEK. RIGHT NOW I AM POSTING ABOUT 3 EACH WEEK. IN THE FUTURE IT WILL PROBABLY AVERAGE 2 A WEEK. I WILL BE POSTING MORE INDIVIDUAL CHIPS EACH DAY.
A DOWN THE ROAD PROJECT THAT I HAVE BEEN THINKING OF LATELY IS: PUTTING ALL OF THE $1 CHIPS THAT ARE CONSIDERED BY ME TO BE FACE VALUE CHIPS ALL TOGETHER UNDER ONE TITLE LIKE THE FACE VALUE FIVES ARE NOW.

A couple of weeks back, I heard that the Gardens had opened its new casino building, so an evening trip was called for to see what surprises awaited.
The old structure, still known to most Californians as the Hawaiian Gardens Casino, has been reduced to rubble. Parking is still on the east side of the premises, but patrons have to walk under a long covered walkway to get to the new two-story building. Upon entering, I was struck by the elegant silver dolphins jumping out of the fountain in the lobby.
I exclaimed: "Quit hitting me, you stupid dolphins!"
Next it was time for a most important task: visiting the men's room. I was surprised to see goldfish in the lavatory sinks.
Then, on to the tables where I saw . . . nothing that looked new. So my next visit was to a cashier. By the way, the old casino had something like a half-dozen cashiers scattered about. This new one seemed to have only two cages, located side-by-side. I asked the cashier if they had any new chips out for the grand opening. "Yes, we have new $1,000 chips," she replied. Told her that was a bit steep, how about any lower denominations?
"Oh, yes, we have new $25's," she said, ruffling through her stock. "But I can't find any right now. Actually they look just like the other twenty-fives, but they are new!"
At this point I deduced I was speaking to Gracie Allen III, so I excused myself and asked a somewhat dour cashier at the second cage about new $25 chips. Told there were none.
Passed by a fascinating sign at one table, "English Only Must Be Spoken When Cards Are In Play." Felt like asking the idle dealer, "Por quë señor?"
And exited the building, looking for the volcano that used to be outside. Alas, it was gone, a victim of the construction. The only active volcano in California and reason to visit Hawaiian Gardens, and it was GONE!
Sometimes chip trips are just good for use of the men's room.

THIS IS ONE OF THE HAPPIEST HARVESTS I MADE. I SAY THIS BECAUSE; I HAD DETERMINED THAT I HAD TO HARVEST FROM THE TABLES AFTER VISITED THE CASHIERS CAGE. AND THE NEXT TIME I WAS IN FRONT OF THE CAGE I WAS CASHING IN A LOT OF RED AND GREEN CHIPS FROM THEIR BLACK JACK TABLES.
THIS CASINO CAME TO BE SHORTLY AFTER KATRINA HIT THE GULF COAST.
AS SOON AS WE HIT THE CASINO FLOOR NANCY HAD SPLIT AND HEADED FOR THE SLOTS. THE CASINO WAS NOT VERY BUSY EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS EVENING TIME. I LOOKED FOR A TABLE THAT HAD FEW OR NO PEOPLE AND SAT DOWN AND STARTED PLAYING BLACK JACK AND I DID VERY WELL EARLY ON. I WOULD USE MY $5 CHIPS AND $25 CHIPS TO BUY ONE DOLLAR CHIPS WHILE PLAYING AND USE THEM FOR A TIP WHEN I HIT A BLACK JACK, RATHER THAN GIVE THEM MY PROFIT THE SNAPPERS. THAT NIGHT WAS ONE OF ONLY NIGHTS I DID NOT HAVE TO BUY $2.50 CHIPS DIRECTLY FROM A DEALER, BECAUSE I WAS RUNNING HOT ALL THE TIME WE WERE THERE. I DID NOT NEED VERY MANY CHIPS FROM THIS CASINO EVEN THOUGH IT WAS REALTIVELY NEW WHEN WE WERE THERE. THIS WAS ABOUT THE FALL OF 2008, SO THEY HAD ONLY BEEN OPEN A COUPLE OF YEARS.
I HAD MADE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO PAY FOR THE TRIP DOWN TO BILOXI AND BACK, TRAVEL EXPENSES ANY WAY. SO WHEN IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE IN A POSITION TO TAKE BACK ALL OF MY PROFITS, I JUST QUIT PLAYING AND WENT IN SEARCH OF NANCY. SHE WAS DOING PRETTY WELL WITH THE SLOTS SO SHE CASHED ALL OF HER TITO’S AND WE EXITED THE TREASURE BAY. WE HAD OTHER CASINOS TO VISIT AND HARVEST FROM DOWN THE ROAD. SOME WILL BE IN ONE THESE SHORT “HARVEST STORY’S”.
I DID GET ENOUGH CHIPS AT THIS FINE ESTABLISHMENT…REGGIE
