The San Luis Rey Downs center near Fallbrook, Ca. killed 40 thoroughbred horses, this is a training center for 850 race horses for Southern Ca. race tracks. Different location, thirty horses were killed by the fire in the San Fernando fire, most were padlocked in stalls at the LA equestrian center, they couldn't be rescued. Sad day's in S.Ca. hundreds of homes lost, in the five fires covering nearly ten square miles. Winds up to 80 MPH moved the fires so fast people had little or no warning to evacuate, luckily only one death reported a women was found in her burned car.
