Sahara Casino Door Pulls from my perspective....

During the July 2011 Sahara Liquidation Sale, I managed to purchase 2 pairs of Sahara Door Pulls. At the time, all of the pulls were tagged with price tags for $250 per pair. However, nearly all of them were also over-marked with the notation, "DO NOT SELL".

I found 2 pairs that did not include the DO NOT SELL notation and managed to acquire both pairs, which included my removing them from the doors. One of the pairs had missing jewels and I was allowed to swap them out for good ones that had the DO NOT SELL tags. One of the sets went to my collection, while the other was put on eBay . At the time, another pair (not mine) had been listed and SOLD for $1,000. So, I listed my second pair for $1,000.

It received one bid and was SOLD for $1,000. The 'ship to' address was a casino/hotel here in Vegas. In the waning days of the liquidation sale, I returned to the Sahara and saw that the remaining door pulls were still in-place and still tagged, "DO NOT SELL". The concentration of door pulls was on the doors leading to the swimming pool and the entryway doors at the valet/porte-cochere drive through.

When the Sahara was remolded as the SLS, the owners tried to keep some 'elements' of the Sahara in the remodel. In doing so, they had all the pulls made into a horrible looking chandelier, as seen here.
