Largest Avalon chip collection I know of. The story I’ve been told is the Chicago Cubs were owned by the Wrigleys who own Catalina Island. The Chicago Cubs, hence the Wrigleys field, practiced on Catalina in Avalon years ago and one of the players moved to Emeryville. He liked Avalon and opened a club and named it Avalon. Nice story and so after living here off and on all my life, when I saw these chips I started collecting them and kept seeing more and more of them and kept picking up as many new varieties as I could. Maybe someday I’ll make a table out of wood and inset the chips in a Catalina shape or picture on the table, without destroying the chips, so they can still be removed later if needed by a collector.
