it makes a big difference if there is an ID for a chip. There are collectors in California that only collect certain towns. Some only San Diego.....some Stockton...and some might be some other town.
Putting an ID on a chip from Jackson, Ca might be more appealing than having a chip from El Cerrito.
So....I would say that putting an ID on a chip increases the value by 3X. And even though the market on California chips is not in high demand....they do sell if they are "interesting enough".
I do agree that sometimes you get a bunch of chips that are from a known area and some unknowns are in there.....there is a good chance that those other chips are from the same area. But.....
When there are 100 ID's by the same few people that are wrong......I beg to differ.
