When I go to yard sales and estate sales I try to not pay much more than 50% of gold value. Of course if someone is offering me a gold ring for $5 I don't turn it down since both buyer and seller are happy Some do not like that idea but if sales like that did not happen then there would be no antique stores since the dealer would have to pay full value for everything in the store and would never make a profit.
