Re: NCR: Reno
In Response To: NCR: Reno ()

I actually will be in Reno tonight and staying at Harrah's, doing the same next week. I am heading to Redding to see my daughter and found cheap airfares through Reno on SWA. I am a Caesars employee and I got the rooms pretty darn cheap.

Casinos: Hopefully since Caesars is now out of bankruptcy they will put some money into the Harrah's Reno property by April, they have let it run down a bit. The Reno gaming market is kind of rebounding - they have been getting killed for over 17 years by California Native American casinos - now that Tesla and others have large plants in the area Reno is recovering well - I hear housing is now pretty pricy in Reno. Across the street from Harrah's is the Club Cal-Neva which was once the most profitable casino per sq foot in Nevada, now is a shell of its former glory. Casinos to see... Atlantis and Peppermill on S. Virginia. The Grand Sierra Resort is not a bad place either. Downtown Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus - now all owned by Eldorado Resorts - all connected on the 2nd floor for an easy stroll.

Chips: Circus Circus put out a new rack in the last year and a half, nice looking chips. Silver Legacy put out a $2 Poker Room chip, Western Village in Sparks has a new rack. Atlantis has a $4 chip - probably a drop chip for poker. I am sure there are more.

I am sure some locals or regulars to Northern Nevada will also chime in.
