This bronze coin is from the Seleukid King Antiochus VI (144-141 BC). It features a serrate or "bottlecap"edge. The coin is 21 mm in diameter, and weighs 7.65 grams. The coin was minted at Antioch, witch was the center of the Seleucid kingdom until 64 bce, when it was annexed by Rome and was made the capital of the Roman province of Syria. The city is now called Antakya, and is located in south-central Turkey.
The "heads" side features the diademed and radiate head of Antiochus facing right. The reverse has an Elephant walking left.
