John, no it is not marked on the outer rim. The outer rim is smooth. I test every token that goes into my collection so I know what the metal content is. I have very few that are not either sterling or pure .999 silver. Those that are not silver I have because I really like the design or I thought a nice set if made of silver and say brass.
