Meanwhile, below is a gathering story from me. Your call to use it whenever.
I still do a fair amount of travel for work, and, depending on where I’m going, my wife will go with me. She particularly likes the west coast cities (we’re in Massachusetts) but some other places appeal to her. However, regardless of where my travels take me, to the extent possible, I will do some gathering based on what the Chipguide tells me I’m missing (but I always ask just in case!). I also try to do some sightseeing along the way, especially when my wife is with me. Last fall we were in Portland Oregon for a meeting and, after the meeting, drove to the Oregon coast then inland to Crater Lake (one of the most beautiful scenic spots in the world) and then to Warm Springs and back to Portland. Picked up a couple of chips along the coast and then, in Warm Springs (Indian Head) got not only their new(ish) $1.00 but also a couple of $5.00 which were not in the Chipguide (since posted). All in all, a very nice trip for the scenery and for chippin’.

DIAMOND MOUTAIN CASINO IS NORTHWEST OF RENO, NV ON HIGHWAY 395. IT IS PRETTY DESOLATE UP IN THAT AREA, BUT SUSANVILLE IS ON THE EDGE OF THE SIERRAS.
NANCY AND I WERE ON OUR LAST LEG OF OUR MONTH VACATION JUST BEFORE TYING THE KNOT ON AUGUST 5TH 2007. WHEN WE PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT, IT LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD JUST FINISHED MAKING A COUPLE OF PARKING LOTS, EVERY WHERE WAS A CLEAN BLACK TOP. HERE IS ONE YOU DO NOT RUN INTO EVERY DAY. IT WAS MONDAY AND THEIR POKER ROOM DOES NOT OPEN ON MONDAY’s. WHEN I GOT TO THE BLACKJACK TABLE THEY HAD SILVER TOKES AND FIVE DOLLAR CHIPS. SO, WITH A LITTLE INVESTIGATION, CHIT CHATTING WITH THE DEALERS, I AM INTRODUCED TO THE CASINO MANAGER OF THE DAY. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I AM CHIP COLLECTOR AND A CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF THE CLUB, WHICH IS SIMILAR TO THE COIN AND STAMP CLUBS OF AMERICA. I ALSO, EXPLAINED THAT HIS DOLLAR CHIPS IS ONE OF THE BEST METHODS ADVERTISING OF ADVERTISING HIS CASINO. AND AFTER A LITTLE THOUGHT, HE SAID I HAVE A FEW ERRANDS TO TAKE CARE OF BUT IF YOU GIVE ME ABOUT A HALF AN HOUR, I WILL BE BACK AND HELP YOU OUT. HE DID COME BACK (I SUSPECT HE HAD TO MAKE A CALL OR TWO) AND TOOK ME TO THE MAIN CASHIER, GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS. I ASKED FOR THIRTY ONE DOLLAR CHIPS AND THE CASHIER CHEERFUL COUNTED THEM OUT AND THEN I FED HER TIP JAR. I DID BUY ENOUGH AT THIS CASINO BUT I AM RUNNING LOW. …REGGIE

Here are a few words about my “Pick Sixes”. There is no rhyme or reason how and when I pick them.
To me they are fun to do.
Sometimes they are below my cost, often times I do it just because I can; and I want to give back a “little sumpin, sumpin” to the customers that are paying attention and reading the Chip Board posts.
It doesn’t take me long to create a “Pick Six”. And most folks know that I use my “Page of the Day” postage and handling rates for shipping.

I PLAN ON CUTTING THE STATES DOWN TO ABOUT SEVEN + OR -; PLUS, MY SPECIAL COLLECTION (CHIPS WITH CARDS ON THEM) AND CANADA. I HAVE NOT DECIDED WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY WET CHIPS, I LIKE THEM AND ENJOY CRUISING SO, THEY MAY BE A KEEPER.

I WILL BE FEATURING ONE STATE PER PAGE OF THE DAY IN THE FUTURE. PLEASE, NO CHERRY PICKING REQUESTS, UNTIL I BREAK DOWN THE STATES INTO INDIVIDUAL CHIPS. IT WILL BE TWO YEARS BEFORE I BREAK ANY OF THE LARGER STATES AND WHEN I DO I WILL MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. ANOTHER MANNER OF MARKETING MAY BE BY CASINO AFTER I BREAK THE STATE UP, I MAY OFFER COMPLETE OR INCOMPLETE GROUPS/SETS FROM INDIVIDUAL CASINOS. ALSO, I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT MERGING THE SMALLER STATES INTO THE POD PAGES, AFTER TWO YEARS; THAT SEEMS TO BE THE EASIEST.
A WORD ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE DUPLICATES ON THE PAGES. THESE ARE UV OR MOLD VARIATIONS. I AM NOT GOING TO PULL THESE OUT AT THIS TIME. SHOULD THIS BECOME A NEGOTIATING FACTOR AND THE BUYER ONLY WANTS JUST ONE CHIP AND THE UV’S AND MOLDS MATTER NOT, THEN I WILL REMOVE THEM AND ADJUST THE PRICE ACCORDINGLY.
FOLKS, MANY OF THESE CHIPS ARE ALIVE, AND STILL BEING USED ON THE TABLES TODAY. SHOULD YOU BE NEAR BY A CLUSTER OF CASINOS FROM ANY PARTICULAR STATE, YOU PROBABLY CAN COME OUT AHEAD. ALSO, PLEASE KNOW THAT I CONSTANTLY OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS UP GRADED. I BOUGHT ANY NEW CASINO ISSUES WHEN THEY COME OUT FROM THE LOCAL CHIPPER THAT OFFERED THEM FOR SALE ON THE CHIPBOARD. Starting 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
