Many of the MOP chips that were used in Cuba and South America came from closed casinos in France or Spain and, in this case, the original engraving that was in the field was ground down and the chips were re-engraved. Having seen this process many times and in several stages of being "reworked" sometimes reveals this process and sometimes sloppy work shows some of the original engraving still remaining.
