Re: L.A. TO L.V. Hi-Way 91 old BAKER, CA, PITSTOP

Back in me kollidge days, around 1990, driving to Vegas with my buddies, the first bet of any Vegas trip was to see who got closest to the temperature of the world's largest thermometer in Baker.

$5 from each person, and another $5 from each if you guessed it on the screws.

I remember four of us driving one trip, and I nailed it exactly right, and that added $30 to my bankroll. grin

Also miss that Baker Bun Boy..I believe it has been gone for many years.

I haven't driven to Vegas for a long time..the way traffic is, much easier to fly now..
