Binions-Horseshoe-Casino chips and tokens

The seller of the Binion's chips and tokens seems to have the entire ending inventory. He is listing many of them on eBay at pretty low opening bids. The $100 slot tokens are real but all that I've seen show a lot of use. Gaming requires $100 denomination slot tokens to either be gold or gold plated. These are gold plated; otherwise they would sell for one or two thousand. Unused tokens still sell over face value but because these used ones started out with black enamel on the faces, they are often badly chipped. This is what they look like unused:

You're right about the value of casino chips in the last few years. There are few actual dealers left and without them to support the market, chip values have dropped by 50%, or more in some cases. The chips you see from 101101 on eBay are real. The prices are real since he has a large inventory and no particular reason to hold his offering price near book value. If you like the chip or token, buy it as a collectible. Don't expect to be able to sell it for more than you paid for it for a long time.
