There is no more difficult or stressful position in the club that there is for the convention chair(s) during the convention week. They put so much time & effort towards providing attendees AND dealers with an enjoyable experience. During the show, they get bombarded with questions and complaints...many coming from the dealers and probably many about what happened with you -- attendees exchanging money on the convention floor. Knowing that and seeing these complaints continually flying in towards the convention chair(s), I'd hope that you'd give Sheldon some understanding & some slack. The dealers do pay good many and dedicate an awfully lot of time at their tables, so I can sympathize with their dilemma. As far back as I can remember from these conventions, the "rule" has always been no sales on the convention floor other than with dealers. That, to me, would also include in the back of the room by the concession area. But outside the convention floor, there's always things happening at those little tables...always has been. May not seem like that big of a deal, but it really is for some of the dealers.
Did you enjoy the convention? If so, Sheldon was a HUGE part of that, so maybe you can trade-off several days of fun for a few moments of disappointment. Tough job, being the convention chair(s), and one that Sheldon & Christine have both done a wonderful job at.
