Sheldon,
I was going to take the high road on this but I want to clarify what happened that day.
1.) You saw us at a table in the concession stand passing chips to each other and what you THOUGHT was cash.
2.) You decided that instead of coming up to us at the table to talk you would SHOUT FROM 15 FEET AWAY
" YOU CAN NOT SELL CHIPS HERE!" "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EXCHANGE CASH FOR CHIPS"
3.) Your demeanor was loud, angry and accusatory...not behavior I would expect from a Convention Chairperson
4.) After insisting to you we NEVER exchanged cash you basically called me a liar and said you saw it with your own eyes..from 15 feet away
5.) You grumbled something and turn around and drove off. We finally realized it must have been a raffle ticket you saw that I had given James and i ran after you down the last aisle yelling ' SHELDON..SHELDON" You finally stopped and I showed you the raffle ticket and stated this was probably what you saw exchanged between us. I said that you know I am a volunteer and I would never sell chips on the floor. Without ever looking up at me directly you just said.."well...I'm sorry then" It was the most disingenuous forced apology ever. When someone does not bother to look you in the face there is no bigger disrespect in my opinion. Your disdain for the "new chippers" was quite evident.
And that is exactly what happened. It really soured the convention for me that day and I told a few well known dealers here on the board that I was leaving early because I just got yelled at publicly by you and was embarrassed and angry. Had I not (and still do btw) had so much respect and genuine admiration for your lovely wife I would have made this a bigger issue.
Your apology is accepted by me.
