Last Tuesday (8 August) was the Monthly meeting of the Southern Nevada Casino Collectibles Club. Taking place again at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, Salon A, as it will through the end of the year on the second Tuesday of each month. The SNCCC gratefully Thank Boyd Gaming for hosting our meetings!
The August meeting was used as a local farewell to the late Gene Trimble, a past SNCCC member, and distinguished Hall of Fame member of the , among many other accolades in the poker and casino collectibles communities. Gene's nephew (Chris) was there, and we thank him for stopping by. Shown here is Gene's page from the Top 10's to 100 Project, where he identified his most favorite 10 chips.
This meeting was planned without a Guest Speaker so that we could address several business concerns and have more time to take advantage of the snacks and refreshments that were served! Coffee, pink lemonade, cookies and danish!!! One topic of discussion was the SNCCC annual fundraiser, an on-line auction of casino chips, set to take place beginning this August 15th on www.thechipboard.com.
SNCCC President, Jerry Vergatos (also of CCA President fame) acknowledge the Induction of SNCCC member Roy Nelson into the CCA Hall of Fame. Pictured here is Jerry giving Roy, who has sold tons of and polo shirts, an SNCCC logo's polo shirt. Jerry also acknowledged Roy being a die-hard 49'er fan!
Each meeting also includes a raffle, with the first prize being a 50/50 event. Show here is the Raffle Table, as being staffed by SNCCC Vice-President Rick Lonski and his wife Terri. Roger Herman is at the right.
We also conduct a live auction of at least 20 chips and various added items, usually additional chips and often a sheet or two of slot glass brought in by Rick Lonski. Rich Burgel added a selection of a 350 Lot of slot cards!
We had 39 attendees at the meeting and we reached an all-time high of 111 Members!
