Even though my collecting areas didn't include illegals (with some exceptions), I still read the IOTD's with interest. And did acquire some illegals over the years due to Gene's stories.

I hope the mysterious "Friend of the Hobby" that Gene mentioned occasionally will still be accessible to your team. He (she?) seemed to have a great deal of knowledge about researching bits of info from long ago.
