The team that helped Gene behind the scenes was large and everyone is still on board. There are many collectors and researchers he called on to help in their areas of specialties.

Gene, David Spragg and myself were definitely the most visible of the IOTD team, but there are dozens of people who help out on a regular basis. Some of those research papers, which take a few minutes to read, actually represent dozens of hours of work and several people's help. That's one reason why they are posted only occasionally.
