It's all about the money!
When I was a security guard in a high-rise res and business condo/building in Downtown HNL, we had to do many fire safely drills.
One was to rush to the FS shut off station. This was to stop the water from the FS when we were ordered to.
We were instructed to do this if the fire was contained or a false fire alarm. This building was new, modern and was fitted with all the best fire safety systems. But once the water would rush out of the FSs.....everything gets flooded!!!
Water damage would destroy most of the art work, electrical items, paper documents and files in the non fire condos and offices as well as the fire affected units. Fire and water do not discriminate! There will be lots of damage!
For me, I can buy new "stuff" whether it's from fire or water damage. I want everyone to be alive and safe! Right?
