Wow....where to start?
First ....condolences to family, friends, chippers, and anyone else who might be affected in the Club's future. I am personally devastated. This has hit me very hard. Gene is my mentor. I wouldn't of researched a single place without his guidance, encouragement, and passion!!

Gene might of been one of the single most important people in our hobby. (To me at least) I'm sure there are many noteworthy people that could be on that long list... (and EVERY Club Member is important)but he sparked an interest in all of us.

How many of us would read an IOTD post and then...re-read it? We couldn't wait for the next one. I know there were many other people involved in those posts...but he was the face of them. Even if you didn't collect illegals....the information was always outstanding! I don't think people could understand the countless hours of research it might take for 1 of those posts. (It could be 100 hours?) The dedication of his time for this is priceless. Those shoes can't be filled.

Gene....the impact you have left on all of us is immeasurable....and you will be missed greatly!!
