ID help....
In Response To: UNKNOWN CHIP - NEED ID ()

First off......I am only attributing these chips to this guy....there are really only 2 possibilities....and one just doesn't seem to fit the lifestyle of some one that would have the chips.

Travis....Bud Meyer found these chips about 3 years ago. He gave me one shortly after and ask if I knew anything. I told him I would try to find out what I could.
We know the chips were ordered and sent to Crocker in 1929.... the box that Bud found had GTC written on it.
I immediately started looking at any business that could have these initials. Thinking the " C" was most likely company....I looked at businesses the had G and T in their names.
Grand Transit Co.
Grand Cigar Co.
I was forcibly trying to connect words together. Nothing really fit. I went from 1925 to 1932 looking through all the directories for businesses that would match the GTC logo.
I did this in spare time for weeks.
Then I started going back through the same directories for people's names....about a month later I felt like I exhausted the names I could come up with.
They were.....
George T. Cann ........a clerk.... (No)
Gemma T. Carduci....a midwife...(No)
George T. Carmine....Agency Director Western States Life Ins Co....(looks promising)
George T. Cameron.. President of Santa Cruz Portland Cement Co & Publisher of S.F. Chronicle (looks promising)

I decided to borrow it down to the last 2 guys as the clerk and midwives didn't fit....these were some nice chips and more that likely they were for a well to do person (or business)
During the research... the " T" I felt was the key to looking at this stuff.

George Carmine wasn't a flashy in your face guy. I didn't see a single newspaper article with him listed. Some of his directory listings didn't include the T. He was well to do...but when you here how the George T Cameron guy was ...you might lean his way too. Over 11,000 newspaper articles with his name listed (not as publisher...but actual news about what he was doing)
He lived an incredible (and busy) life
A time line in next post....
Be patient with me as it will take a will to type all this up and might take 2-3 posts (and I'm only including a small percentage of info on this guy.
