ATTENTION past and current Members in and around Vegas on the 11th of July...
Do you remember the Sandersons?
Art and Muriel, with their distinctive red shirts and beige vests, along with the Blanc's, who for a decade, welcomed arriving attendees to the Annual Conventions of the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club, Inc., now doing business as the Casino Collectibles Association (CCA).
While the Sanderson's are no longer with us, their 75th Wedding Anniversary is being celebrated by their 4 children (and several extended family members) in a special ceremony on the 11th of July, at 1 pm at the Plaza Hotel and Casino.
Stephen Sanderson, one of the Sanderson's sons, is inviting any and all past and present, local and national Club members to attend this brief ceremony to be held in front of the MoGH's, "The Plaza, Then and Now" Exhibit at the Plaza Hotel and Casino, Downtown Las Vegas. At that time, the family will present Art and Muriel's distinctive vests to the CCA, for inclusion into the MoGH's body of future museum artifacts.
For those who attended the recent CCA 25th Anniversary Convention at the South Point, you may have noticed the Sanderson's vests on display at the Registration Desk, behind current Registration Chair (Brenda Black) and her assistant, Club Founder and Past President, Archie Black.
Stephen requests that anyone who remembers his mom and dad from the Tropicana and Riviera years to please join him and his family at the Plaza, as they formally turn the Sanderson's vests over to the CCA / MoGH and reminisce about Art and Muriel.
I hope to see many of you there and then of course later that evening at the Gold Coast for the SNCCC July meeting!
