Re: How I got my Chips to the Convention !!

I personally did not have your luck in using " Priority Mail " as I shipped home a box of stuff I picked up the 8 days I was in Las Vegas. I also used a medium flat rate box and insured it for $500.00 ( maximum amount per USPS ). My box arrived on Tuesday of this week. I have included some pictures of condition of box as I received it. 1/2 of contents were missing and what did survive the trip was ruined due to water damaged. This is my first Priority Mail Claim with USPS and it has been nothing but painful and time consuming. Even if I get my $500.00 from insurance ( which is very iffy ) I had over $1200.00 worth of collectibles in box. Had I known max insurance per box was $500.00 I would have sent 2 boxes home. Box, when I received it had water dripping out of the large hole on one end. Unbelievable !
A few pointers if you plan on shipping valuables using USPS. If you buy insurance, make sure you have receipts for items that are being shipped in case of loss or damage. Remember $500.00 max insurance per box. Take plenty of picture of box. So far I have tied up about 6 hours into claim process and I am several weeks from ( maybe ) receiving compensation for insurance I PAID FOR . I lost both Thunderbird Chips I won in the Thursday night auction after the show along with photographs, ( 16 ) matchbooks, 2 decks of cards, ( 4 ) as htrays, etc. all from the Thunderbird. Show was great but I lost everything I picked up for my Thunderbird Collection. mad mad
