Thanks to all for another great convention! It was great to finally meet Reggie and Cashman in person and put faces with names for many other folks. Tons of great conversations all around. As for chips, I acquired about 50 more fracs, 20 more $1's, 20 more $5's, over 70 new snappers, and a bunch for the island of misfit toys - not to mention finds for other folks! I'll do a more comprehensive write-up later, but for now, the pics!
First up we have a page of new fracs, almost all of which were $2 or less (the two notable exceptions being the Rex Club 25c and 50c chips - I already owned the dime) including that little green gem from Artichoke Joes!
.
Next we have a second completed page full of hub-inlaid redbirds. The latter half of this page was acquired at the convention.
.
Following that, a completed page of yellow $5 chips. I wanted to complete a page of yellow fivers from random molds, materials, and time periods. This will do nicely. The lower two-thirds of the page were convention acquisitions. Love that Lake Elsinore and OCC chip, along with the ESC and Lummi tribe chips!
.
You wouldn't know it, but I don't actually make it a habit to collect $5 chips. I do like hub-inlaid redbirds, though, and the page of yellows was a goal to show variety in that denomination.
Next up is a page of 418-spotted (a reference to the 418 CPC spot pattern) white $1 chips. Nice variety of locations and inlays, and even got a row of off-white chips in there to boot. Many of these I already had, but I finished about half of this page at the convention.
.
Next we have some additions to my Island of Misfit Toys. These are chips that are either higher denominations or have a base color that doesn't match the common colors for their denomination. Of particular interest here are the Stockyards $1 and $5. They were positively filthy when I picked them out of the bargain bin but they cleaned up beautifully and are proudly slotted next to their blue hub-inlaid $10 sister in the binder.
.
And last we have some of the new $1 chips added. The California Club and El Panama chip were, again, in a wretchedly dirty state but cleaned up better than Cinderella! Also love love love that Atlantic Star chip! I have the $1 and $500 but need the other denominations in between. If you have some available, please reach out!
