Las Vegas

As you all know we are on a 5-6 week journey of taking the road less traveled. Well what is the worst thing that could happen to you when you are taking a road trip? Having a problem with your car. The passenger window decided to break when we were leaving Sedona. It kept sliding down, the power was gone. Even before the window lost power we looked like the Clampett's because the car is loaded down with everything you would need for a road trip as well as a 6 week journey and in case you get stranded somewhere. Now we have a window that we have stuffed cardboard into and duck taped the window shut. Now without question we have the whole Clampett thing going on. Once we "fixed" the window we leave Sedona and somewhere in Ash Fork Arizona we picked up Route 66. What a fun drive. For those of you that remember they have Burma Shave signs along the way.

We get to Seligman Arizona home to the Road Kill Cafe, Dummies on the Roof Store AKA Bone Daddy's, and of course we ran into an old cowboy. He has a horse named Elvis, he told me I needed to get on the horse and tell everyone I rode Elvis on Route 66. Just to be clear the last time I was on a horse I was 27 years old. This guy was great he had very few teeth and explained that he got along better with his horses than women. Proof of that is he has 4 ex-wives, according to him he is friends with 3 and now dates 2 of them. When you drive the highway things like this never happen. When he handed me the rifle to get my picture taken he told me to keep my finger off the trigger since the gun was loaded.

We made it to Las Vegas Monday afternoon and we spent most of yesterday getting the car repaired. It only cost $2K because the motor was bad and of course our tires were bad, etc. Hopefully we will make the rest of the trip with no other auto issues. Temperature here yesterday was 116 degrees, but as we all know it's a dry heat, so it's not nearly as bad (SERIOUSLY!!!!) I just want to go on record, it is hot.

For the first time ever Fred has made the decision to set up a table at the convention and sell some of his 23,000 chips. Already we have sold one of them 😀. Remember every journey begins with a single step! Please stop by booth 14 and say hello!!
