My main chip collecting project is collecting one casino chip from as many Las Vegas Casinos that I can. My main obstacle for some of these older casinos will and has been cost ( as I am sure it will be that for most of us ). I know some of the older Las Vegas Casino chips I will never get and that is OK with me. I have broken down these casinos to five ( 5 ) groups by the following years. Initial Opening 1930's-1969,.......Initial Opening 1970-1979,.....Initial Opening 1980-1989,.....
Initial Opening 1990-1999,.....and Initial Opening 2000-Current. I looked for a long time for a system to display these chips, protect them, describe them, and I finally came up with what most folks use and that is the Dansco Casino Chip Album # 7007. Holds 45 chips ( 5 pages of 9 chips per page ). For me the album did display and protect the chips well, but came up a little short when it came time for information about the chips. There was not enough room on the page with the chips. Then after trying several options I found out Dansco makes a 1 pocket page ( made for oversize currency ) that fits these albums perfectly. With the help of " Avery" Address Labels 1" X 2-5/8" I have solved my problem. These additional 5 pages fit in album with no problem. Now when friends come over and play my old 5 cent slot machines, look at my casino stuff on wall, I pull out these albums and the casino / chip descriptions help answer most of their questions. I have included Casino name, Address, Opening Date / Closing Date if there is one and chip description. I have included some pictures below to show exactly what I am describing. I even took album apart for better pictures. Does anyone else want to share how they display their chip collection as it might help others with their housing and display ?
