It always amazes me how much we miss when if comes to chip varieties. I have had both sets of these Harrahs Las Vegas Roulette chips for many years and I never noticed the difference in these chips until yesterday when I was picking out some chips for another collector. The chips in the flips are from an album that houses my Harrahs Las Vegas Roulette collection. The chips without the flips were in a box of dups I had for sale. When I looked at the chips to make sure I wasn't selling something that I needed for my collection - I discovered the chip varieties shown below.
The chips in flips have a "Shaded or Shadowed" HARRAHS and the ones without the flips an "Unshaded" HARRAHS with totally white letter centers.
I now have both varieties of these chips in my collection. I also wonder if the A - B and F chips in this 24 Lines Styles also exist in both varieties.
I don't have any A chips of either variety of these chips in my collection. I have 4 of the B chips which look to be the "Unshaded" variety and six F chips that are the "Unshaded" variety.
These two different varieties are probably due to a re-order of these Roulette chips. Based on the dates I acquired these chips I would say that the "Shaded" chips were the original chips in this Series and the "Unshaded" chips were the newer re-ordered chips.
Please look at the Harrahs Las Vegas 24 Line Roulette chips you have in your collection and LMK which variety you have. I would be interested in acquiring any of the two varieties of these chips from Tables A and B and the "Shaded" chips from Table F.
Take care,
"Mr. Roulette"
