Don, The Las Vegas Dollar was the creation of Cliff McDonald. I think his initials are somewhere on the coin. Cliff owned a coin shop on
Fremont Street and claimed, among others, to be the inventor of the dice clock. He had quite a few for sale in his store. The LV Dollars
were meant to be sold in the gift shops of the hotels depicted on them. Most were mounted on key chains, money clips, or belt buckles.
I partnered up with him to produce a Reno Dollar. He maintained ownership of the obverse die and I was to get the hotels in Reno to
buy their own reverse designs. Somewhere along the line I lost interest in the project and only had a generic (Reno Arch) made in two
different medals. I had a some extra LV Dollars that I sold to Vince Mowery so you probably got them. There were some counterfeits
and knockoffs that others produced illegally and sold around town-some were pretty crude. Cliff's store was called Coins and Gifts International.
He was a real innovator. Cliff died at a fairly young age.
