RANT eBay's Lies

Once in a while, I conviently forget how much eBay disrespects sellers. You know, The folks that are the sole source of their auction based revenue, and without whom, there'd be no advertising revenue.

I send nightly invoices out to buyers at the end of the day's acutions with a note of don't pay yet unless your are done bidding on my auctions. This to keep each bidder's wins grouped together on my seller's page, a big help at shipping time to have everything in one place.

One buyer has bought 75+ items. Now, I've run into eBay's 40 item limit on invoices before, so no surprise there that a second invoice would be created (so their buddies at PayPal could stick you with another 30c per transaction fee) . I didn't notice that as a couple of days passed that the system had sent out different invoices for each day. Last night when I tried to send his final invoice, I couldn't combine the "extra" 35 items over the first 40 item maxed out invoice, into one invoice. Ended up with 3 additional invoices.

Called eBay... .... ..... She puts me on hold, talks to the tech folks...... ...... Then again... .... ..... and again... .... .....They're sorry, but the system doesn't combine invoices once sent. OUTRIGHT LIE!!!!! The system did it for two other buyers who I'd sent nightly invoices to for this sale. And has done it in the past for sales past 40 items.

I told the Customer Service Rep that I'm not completely stupid and I didn't appreciate being lied to in order for them to drop the issue. She stammered and said that they'd call me back later in the day. We'll see.

Why in the Free Union of Celtic Knights do they have to lie? Can't they just tell me that they don't know what broke in this instance and that they'll work on it and get back to me? That they appreciate my bringing this bug in their software to their attention? That they'll credit me for the extra PayPal fees incumbant with extra invoices?

The culture of Seller's be damned lives on at eBay. It's ingrained in thier corporate culture to disrespect any seller not generating $1,000,000 a year in sales.

How does a company survive by disrespecting thier paying customers? Boggles the mind!
