I believe the change was made in accordance

with the club rules and bylaws, so the name, which is simply a dba, is now the CCA. It was changed for very specific reasons, all of which were intended to help the club and the hobby. This has been discussed for months on this board and the club board. You can search and find many threads about the proposed and then implemented name change.

The new name is simpler, easier to remember, is more inclusive (so as to draw more people into the hobby) and it was determined that "association" looks more professional than "club." It is not true that all club members only collect chips. Some, like the late Mark Englebretson, never cared much about chips at all. Why not include them all. I believe the convention has always included more casino collectibles than just chips. The more people who might fit in the club, the larger the club can become.

Other than I like the original name and don't like change, what reasons can you see for not changing the club name?
