I'm sorry, but I call BS on the part of them honoring the Insurance if it is never scanned into the system. That is just against the nature of the beast, and fraught with fraud problems. I could buy a couple of shipping labels for a few bucks each week and then claim $50 of loss even if they never showed as tendered into the system. I think not!

Perhaps you live in a very small town or something, but I've never gotten the time of day from my local station manager when I went in with any complaints.

On the other hand, my letter carrier is quite nice and will scan acceptance of the trackable letters and packages when I hand them to him. Never a problem for him, happy to do it. Has even had to punch in the number when it wouldn't scan.
