Shortly before Joe showed up there were several of us enjoying the splash bar several days before the convention started.

A girl showed up with a duffle bag and we bought her a few drinks. She seemed pretty strung out and down on her luck. She told us all a story that she was in the Air Force and stationed at Nellis but was on a leave. From the track marks in her arm it was obvious to all that she was a far way from the military but we all played along.

When Joe showed up we introduced him to her and told him she was in the Air Force.....

Joes first statement which I will always remember and always makes me chuckle, was......

Our Air Force ??????

That was a convention I will always remember and that girl tried everything she could to get me to take her to my room. I ended up walking her downstairs to the cab stand, putting her in a cab and telling the driver to bring her wherever she needs to go.
I remember handing the cabbie $30.

Not sure if she ever made it out of the parking lot or not but we never saw her again.

The original Splash Bar had some great stories over the convention years there.

Not sure what is is but I seem to have a knack for attracting strung out ladies of the evening......
