That means it was a scam from the beginning.

Oddly enough a few days ago I got a call from Amex who sent me a fraud alert as someone tried to use my card without it being present.
This is now sounding like it may be a whole lot more sinister than just selling to another buyer.

Hmmmmm, I need to make eBay aware of that.
