Rich my connection with Nancy

I know Nancy for 15 years, as my relative lived in the RV park, and I visited 2-3 times a year, and we went to Laughlin 30 mins. away. I have every chip ever made in my collection. In the old day's on Fri. night they would open the BJ table, a dealer lived in town. Then he died and haven't had any live games for about 12 years. Now just a slot vender. Her husband was a pilot and when flying over this location in the summer, he noticed some green plants, so he knew the water level was high. So they homesteaded and both worked very had building this small town, had a gas station till about 10 years ago when tanks leaked and the closed. One of only a couple dirt runways with lights in US. Some private planes still fly in for breakfast or lunch. on the north end on runway about a dozen pilots have their small plane in a hanger next to their RV. Original air strip was built by the army for training before World War two. General Patten trained troops there for desert environment. Nancy husband is buried just off the north end of the runway. Nancy big break happened when the crossing on Hoover Dam was closed and they improved Hwy 95 from a narrow two lanes to a nice 4 lane hwy. Nancy sold 1/2 mile of property on both sides for a good price, then sold water during construction as she had excellent wells, and also rented out all of her RV spaces to construction workers, who were customers for her small market, motel, restaurant, bar, and slots. I think the construction lasted almost 9-12 months. Then the recession hit and business slowed Nancy is a in her senior years, had a hour plus commute each way, so she listed for sale Don Laughlin was very interested but back out, no action recently, she has no living children, and her manager runs the town most day's now. She is one of only a few 100% owners of a casino in Nv. Since my relative passed away 4 years I haven't visited Nancy, but have great memories of her stories. A good story about Nancy was in one of our club magazine many years ago. Fred
