Of a German beer stein collecting club and they announced a speaker that was a former Nazi war criminal, I would probably speak out and no longer be a member of that club.

However I personally would not make a comment on the choice of speaker if I were not a member of that club as it does not involve me personally. This is especially true if I had no intention of attending that event, and had never been to one previously.

As has been pointed out by several people already, our hobby has a rich history of the Mob and organized crime. That doesn't mean we condone the activities, but it means that we all recognize the colored past of the hobby and gaming in general.

I am surprised that someone with such a hatred for the Mob would even have an interest in a hobby such as ours.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and there are absolutely no rules on this board preventing you from posting what you did. With that being said, I personally wouldn't have voiced my opinion on a speaker for a banquet that I was not intending to attend for a club which I was not even a member of.

Just my opinion, which is what I voiced in earlier posts.

As an attendee of just about every previous banquet, I am looking forward to hearing this years speaker and learn more about the history of the hobby I enjoy.
