I'm not sure why, but the horseshoe somehow became a symbol of good luck in the
old American west... of course this carried through to gambling, and here are a few
examples of lucky horseshoes depicted on casino and poker chips... there seems to
be some disagreement about which side should be up... please enjoy... and add some
