I know that some of these chios are common and in horrible shape, but the hunt is fun. You never know if you are going to find a gem or not. I think that the unknown chips are the real gems.
A story behind one of the chips I picked up.
I went into a 2nd hand store outside Santa Rosa and the story the guy had on the chip was.... (And I can't say if it true or not...only repeating was I was told)
The guy said... 5-30 years ago was doing some repair work for an older woman whose husband had passed. They had a home in downtown Santa Rosa. He had to climb under the house to do some work and noticed a few buckets full of poker chips in the corner behind a stack of boards. He grabbed on on his way out and asked her about them. She put up a big fuss saying they belonged to her husband and they were down there for safe keeping. Don't bother with them. He said he managed to get the one chip.
He said he would get me the lady's name. He has it written down at home..."Somewhere" along with the address.
