Real Paypal emails will have you name in the email

Real emails from Paypal should always have your name at the start of the email. A phishing email will rarely have this info, and while having you name will not 100% guarantee that it is genuine, if the email doesn't have your name at the start you can assume it is not real.

As others have suggested though, if you are unsure then contact Paypal via the numbers in their website (not the ones in the email)
