For my design awareness, what type of LED lighting are you using? String lights (like for a Christmas tree), ribbon lights, bulbs?

Is there an associated transformer for the power cord, like what a laptop computer uses? Is there a buildup of heat?

While yours looks very nice, I am trying to avoid a wood frame. I'm partial to a very thin aluminum frame or even no frame at all my just metal clips to hold the slot glass against a 1" thick enclose for the LED array.
