As most people know, my main collection is UK and Ireland, with a few other chips that interest me with the '£' denomination.
I have picked up these recently and need some help in identifying them. The jetons all are from the Biarritz Casino which would normally indicate France, but with denominations in pounds and shillings which would indicate that if they are from the UK then they are pre-1971. There are two types of the £1 jeton. The 2/6 jeton is interesting as it is the same on both sides, but seems to have been re-stamped over a previous design where the 2/6 denomination was much larger.
The chips - well, one has Biarritz Casino (one of the 10/- chips) and the other three simply have 'R' at the top with the denomination. The chips are all well used.
So does anyone have any information about these, especially where they came from? The jetons could be available for trade but I will probably keep the chips (at least until I know if they fit into my collection). I do have one extra of the £1 jeton with lines.
Thanks
Jason
