Greetings One and All
Do you know the story/joke about the Good Pig?
Reporter asks Farmer about the pig that saved the Farmer's Family's lives by escaping his pen and making a ruckus sufficient to wake the Farmer's Family when their house caught fire. Farmer recounts the story of that night in great detail. Reporter says "Wow, the pig did all that with a wooden leg?"
"He didn't have a wooden leg then."
"What happened to him?"
"Well, a good pig like that, you don't eat him all at once!"
I'm the good pig! My recent hospital stay was to amputate the 2nd (Index) toe on my right foot. I'm pleased as can be that the Good Lord considers me a good enough pig to only take me back one toe at a time!
So, to all those Diabetics and Pre-Diabetics out there in Chipper Land, this being Diabetic thing is for real, as are all the admonitions to take great care of your feet. I went from having bent back the toenail putting my shoe on, to this hospital stay in about 10 days time. I was receiving care for the toe from my Podiatrist. But this time the germs attacking the wound thought the antibiotic she prescribed to kill them off was a nice condiment to go with toe for their picnic. Off to the ER for me for several different IV antibiotics, (enough that my blood volume is now half liquid antibiotics) and removal of the infected tissue/bone.
I'm going to be down, stuck at home, for 4 to 6 weeks while this heals, No putting weight on the foot and no driving. Que sera, sera.
Take Care,
Steve
