Dan...
I think Robert hit on the main reason there is not a lot of trading, and that is time. It takes a lot of time to scan chips, post them, trade emails and ship the chips. In my 20 years of collecting I have rarely traded chips simply because of the time involved. I have participated in many round robins in the past because all you had to do was post you wanted to participate, open the envelope when it came, swap chips, mail it, and post that it had been sent back out.
I agree it's important, especially to new members to build their collection without a lot of expenditure.
I'll make you an offer. If you can get a 8 or 10 person round robin going with 20 of your $1 chips or 10 of your $5 chips I will send you a matching number of chips to double the choices in the round robin. The only condition is when it is eventually returned to you that you take the 10 or 20 chips you want (same number you put in) and send the other 10 or 20 chips (which I donated) to the Club as a donation to the raffle. Maybe with a larger selection you will get more participation. Most of the chips I would donate will be older chips that I have had for several years since I haven't added any new release chips to my collection in years.
Just a thought but maybe it will help get everyone in the trading mood again. Good luck
Wayne
