If it's in an AirTite case, try using a paring knife to pry it open. Use the lower edge of the knife (the part of the blade closest to the handle) and run it around the circle giving the knife a very little twist here and there and see if the case starts to loosen up. If not, try the other side! Hard to tell where the seam is sometimes! (top or bottom) Do be Careful! Not saying that due to your age, but due to I've cut myself doing this.
